Why Choose a CNC Fabric Cutting Machine?
Fabric, leather, and composite materials are soft, easy to shift, and prone to deformation. Traditional manual cutting is not only inefficient but also makes it difficult to maintain consistent dimensions and contours over time. A CNC fabric cutting machine secures the material using vacuum adsorption and automatically follows the imported design file, allowing it to accurately process straight lines, curves, holes, and complex irregular shapes.
Intelligent nesting software optimizes the layout of cutting patterns according to the material width and shape of each part, reducing offcuts and improving material utilization. Automatic feeding and continuous cutting reduce manual workload and shorten production cycles, making the machine particularly suitable for multi-product, small-batch, customized, and large-scale production.
Xingkai fabric cutting machines use blades for physical cutting, avoiding the high temperatures, burnt edges, smoke, and unpleasant odors commonly associated with laser processing. The machines produce clean cutting edges with consistent accuracy, and most materials require no secondary trimming. Manufacturers can quickly switch between products by changing the design file, providing an efficient, flexible, and fully digital cutting solution for the garment, home textile, furniture, and automotive interior industries.

Why Choose an Oscillating Knife Cutter Instead of a Laser Cutting Machine for Fabric?
For garment fabrics, upholstery materials, curtain fabrics, nonwoven fabrics and other flexible textiles, oscillating knife cutting offers several significant advantages.
Laser cutting uses heat to melt or burn through materials. When cutting certain synthetic fabrics, it may produce burnt edges, unpleasant odors or smoke. The heat may also change the color and texture of the fabric edges. An oscillating knife uses a mechanical blade, generating no heat and leaving clean, natural edges. It is therefore better suited to textile products with high finishing requirements.
Compared with manual cutting, the Xingkai digital fabric cutting machine automatically reads design files and combines intelligent nesting, vacuum adsorption, automatic feeding and continuous cutting. This improves productivity while reducing manual errors and material waste.
Laser cutting remains suitable for synthetic fabrics that require heat-sealed edges or highly detailed hollow patterns. However, oscillating knife cutting is cleaner, safer and more versatile for garment, upholstery, automotive interior, bag, footwear and home textile production.

How to Choose a Xingkai Fabric Cutting Machine
For rolled materials such as garment fabric, curtain fabric, sofa fabric and home textiles, we recommend a digital cutting machine with an automatic feeding system. The conveyor table works continuously with fabric rolls and is suitable for long patterns and batch production.
For fixed-size fabrics, garment samples, shoe uppers, bag components and small-batch orders, a fixed-table model is more compact and flexible.
For small-batch multilayer cutting, the tools and vacuum system should be selected according to the fabric type, compressed total thickness and required daily output. Xingkai provides different table sizes and tool combinations based on each customer’s material and production requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What fabrics can the Xingkai digital fabric cutting machine cut?
The machine can cut cotton, linen, polyester, knitted fabric, woven fabric, denim, silk, nonwoven fabric, felt, canvas, Oxford fabric, mesh, sofa fabric, curtain fabric, carpet and various composite textiles.
Because elasticity, air permeability and fiber structure vary between materials, customers are advised to send samples or provide material photos, thickness and dimensions. The Xingkai technical team can then arrange a cutting test and recommend the correct tool.
Can the machine cut multiple layers of fabric?
Yes. The Xingkai digital fabric cutting machine supports small-batch multilayer cutting. After vacuum compression, the total thickness of the stacked fabric should be less than 25 mm. The vacuum system compresses and secures the layers, reducing movement, wrinkles and misalignment during cutting.
The actual number of layers depends on the thickness, density, air permeability and compressibility of the fabric. Thin and easily compressed fabrics can be stacked in more layers, while thick, fluffy or high-density composite fabrics require fewer layers.
Machine selection should therefore be based on the total thickness after vacuum compression rather than the number of layers alone. Testing with the customer’s actual material is recommended.
Does fabric cutting produce smoke or burnt edges?
No. The oscillating knife cuts mechanically without using a laser or generating heat. It therefore does not produce the burnt edges, scorch marks or irritating smoke commonly associated with laser cutting.
A small amount of fiber lint may be produced during processing. Regular cleaning of the machine surface and vacuum filtration system is sufficient.
How does the machine keep the fabric flat during cutting?
The Xingkai digital fabric cutting machine uses a vacuum adsorption table to hold the material flat and secure. For rolled materials, an automatic feeding system can be added to keep the fabric stable during continuous feeding and cutting.
Highly air-permeable fabrics can be covered with a special film to strengthen the vacuum hold and improve cutting accuracy.
Can the machine cut elastic fabrics?
Yes. However, elastic materials can stretch or deform, so they require vacuum adsorption, low-tension feeding and suitable cutting parameters.
For knitted, stretch and easily deformable fabrics, we recommend testing the actual material before determining the cutting speed, tool and adsorption method.
Which design files does the Xingkai digital fabric cutting machine support?
The machine can work with commonly used garment pattern-making and nesting software and supports standard formats such as DXF and PLT. Compatibility with other file formats can be confirmed according to the customer’s existing software.
After importing the design, the system can perform automatic nesting and cutting-path planning to improve material utilization and reduce manual work.
Does the machine require cutting dies?
No. Designs can be modified directly on a computer and imported into the cutting system. Different styles and sizes can be changed quickly without producing new dies.
This makes the machine particularly suitable for sample making, customized orders and small-batch, high-mix production.
How often should the blade be replaced?
Blade life depends on the fabric composition, thickness, cutting speed and daily operating time. Standard garment fabrics cause relatively little blade wear, while fiberglass, aramid and high-density composite textiles wear blades more quickly.
Operators should regularly inspect the blade tip and cutting quality. Replace the blade when the edges become uneven, fibers are pulled or the material is no longer cut completely.
Can I test my material before purchasing?
Yes. Customers can send fabric samples to Xingkai for cutting tests. We can provide cutting videos and finished sample results.
