Cardboard folding-box development depends on clean cutting, accurate crease placement and repeatable sample production. In this demonstration, a Xing Kai CNC oscillating knife cutting system processes a cardboard box layout and produces a foldable sample with cutouts, tabs and crease lines.
Cutting and creasing in one workflow
The cutting head follows the digital box pattern on the worktable, separating the outer profile while creating the internal features needed for folding. This workflow helps packaging teams move from a flat blank to a physical sample without preparing a traditional cutting die.

From flat blank to a foldable sample
The finished blank shows how cut contours and fold lines work together. Once folded, the sample forms a compact box structure, allowing teams to review the design, fit and opening details before moving forward with a packaging project.

A practical option for packaging samples
Digital cutting can support packaging sample development when teams need to evaluate a box layout before production. Xing Kai CNC systems can be configured for cutting and creasing applications based on the material and workflow requirements.
